SONY WRPC: Any manual, any day
Sony WRPC is the Belgium based European
Logistics Centre for spare parts for the entire Sony Group. For Sony WRPC, Yamagata
prints the spare part manuals. This means that a Sony customer in Europe can request his dealer to supply him any user manual
from any Sony product as a spare part.
Yamagata Europe picks up these orders on the Sony dedicated site and prints the next day. Sony arranges collection at the print factory
every day and ships the orders to the dealer.
Conclusion: This approach has helped Sony to lower the cost of stock, serve the client faster and avoid unnecessary printruns.
HCME: Any language, any format
Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) and its consolidated subsidiaries (the HCM Group) rely upon their extensive experience
and advanced technological capabilities to develop and manufacture a wide range of leading-edge construction machinery. Hitachi
Construction Machinery (Europe) NV is the European branch of the HCM Group and was established in 1972 in Oosterhout, the Netherlands.
Recently HCME has expanded rapidly and has opened production facilities in Oosterhout, Amsterdam and Lyon. Over 600 employees work
in offices in Amsterdam, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Moscow and Istanbul.
Since 2003, Yamagata Europe has provided a variety of localisation services to HCME. In every project, Yamagata has proven to be a reliable partner who supports Hitachi in preparing its documentation. Yamagata Europe handles both commercial sales documentation and more technical service literature. Source material is delivered in formats such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign and FrameMaker; these are converted to and from translatable export files and supplied, after an extensive Quality Check, in the form of web-optimised PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, digital and offset printed books and booklets, et cetera.
Using the latest CAT-tools (Computer Aided Translation), DTP software and printing know-how, Yamagata is committed to continuously improving its service, processes and quality by suggesting and implementing new and better strategies for each specific project. Hitachi appreciates the transparency of Yamagata’s workflow and benefits from their flexible and customer-friendly approach.
RICOH: Any language, any process
Ricoh produces a full range of office equipment including faxes, printers, copiers, scanners and devices that combine all these
functions. Many translation related activities for the European market are concentrated in the ELC (European Language Centre) at the
European HQ in Amsterdam. This ELC has implemented an advanced and automated way of creating and managing the technical content for
the Ricoh products. Yamagata Europe started to work for Ricoh in 2001 as a partner in this "contents supply chain". Our
partnership was awarded with the valuable "Certified Ricoh Localization Partner" award in 2004, and the even more prestigious
"Best Localization Partner" in 2005.
Yamagata Europe handles a wide variety of contents through different processes for Ricoh. We have been able to seamlessly integrate our own developed tools like QA Distiller and ColourProof into Ricoh’s proprietary workflow. We translate sgml and help files, manage the automated DTP process, check the translation quality of all files with QA Distiller and create easy-to-proofread pdfs with our tool ColourProof.
Yamagata is motivated to work for a customer that requests the utmost creativity in process management and automation, without giving
in on quality. Ricoh appreciates the quality oriented approach in a highly automated and very price competitive environment.
A true partnership.
